The marketing of evil

"Legalise 2010 sex trade”- Jackie Selebi
How’s this for a proposal by the National Police Commissioner himself – Mr Jackie Selebi? I was attending the Full Flame Fire Conference with Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and was enjoying his teachings when we broke for lunch. It was then that the newspaper and specifically this article was brought to my attention. What a contrast!!
I sat in disbelief as I read the article. How low have our politicians sunk? One can just imagine the consequences of legalising prostitution and disorderly drinking in public! What is of more concern is that Mr Selebi can simply negate his responsibility as national Police Commissioner and propose changing the laws of our country just because he is not a visionary and cannot identify ways of stopping illegal activity during the World Cup. He demonstrates zero confidence in his police force to curb crime and hooliganism. Why was this not highlighted before ‘glamorising’ and selling the 2010 World Cup to South Africa? Surely the budgeted billions of Rands include extra and adequate policing and protection for all foreign guests and citizens of South Africa. All I can say is: “Once again we are being confronted with lawlessness and sin”.
“Everyone who sins breaks the law, in fact, sin is lawlessness.” 1 John 3:4.
Please, brothers and sisters in Christ, don’t sit back and let our country be ruined by unsaved politicians. “Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world” 1 John 4:4
We need to unite in taking ownership and responsibility for these problems. We need to become fervent prayer warriors and fight the principalities and powers that are behind this. Together we can bring them down!
“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” James 5:16
We also need to investigate, educate and consider our responsibility when it comes to the next election in 2008 and for whom we are going to vote. Christians can no longer afford to be ignorant in this regard and place their votes for political parties who have ungodly leaders and destructive policies. We need to ask God to raise up Godly men and women who are filled with the power of the Holy Spirit and in whom we can place our confidence to influence society. For too long the Church has remained quiet in this regard preferring “not to mix religion and politics”. How long can this really go on?
Satan is declaring war against society and making his intentions very clear, therefore we cannot claim spiritual myopia and do nothing. What future would we be leaving for our children?
“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness but rather expose them.” Eph 5:11
