The Greatest Gift of All

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

I greet you in the Name of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, who was given to mankind as the ultimate sacrifice for sin.  Dear Jesus – the greatest gift ever given or received. Think about your salvation for a moment, when you ‘heard’ the Gospel for the first time and came to the realization that you were lost, perishing without a hope, destined for hell. Think about  the person who led you to the Lord, even if you cannot remember his or her name,  and now take a moment to thank God for that person.  You see, if it were not for the obedience of that person to Jesus’ Great Commission, where would you be?  We were given the gift of eternal life, brought to us at an appointed time, by an appointed messenger of the Lord.

Jesus chose to use ordinary people like you and me to be His Ambassadors, to be His bearers of the “Good News”.  He commanded us to share His free gift of salvation.  The question is: Are we sharing this gift?    As you celebrate Christmas this year, why not commit to share the Gospel with every person to whom you plan to give a gift.  You can also make a gift tag with a salvation prayer on the one side, and can start praying for that person to receive Christ. It makes it so much easier to share the Gospel with someone for whom you have being praying.  Let’s ask the Lord to fill us with boldness and let’s pass on this opportunity of sharing the greatest gift of all – eternal life with Jesus.

May you have a blessed Christmas.

Erin
