Editor's Letter

“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.” PROVERBS 31:10

August is almost upon us and it is time to celebrate women. In this issue we bring you the story of Kay Warren (wife of Purpose Driven Life author, Rick) who dared to surrender everything to God….and it is amazing to see how the Lord is using this obedient sister in Christ. I once read a poster that said: ‘One person with commitment and vision will achieve more than a thousand people with interest alone’. How true! Ladies, let us pray that the Lord will give each one of us a vision so that, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we become committed to the cause. Imagine if we were all living an obedient life of purpose for the Lord?
Do read UnderCover by John Bevere. Pastors have been given to the Body of Christ to be shepherds of our souls and we all need a pastor. Let us not become deceived into believing we can go it alone out there. We also bring you a teaching on the Five-Fold Ministry which will hopefully lead to an understanding of God’s plan for structure within the Church.
Lastly, I’ve had some response to Lee Grady’s column on the Lakeland Revival in our last issue. Many felt he was being a bit harsh in his cautions, as they had personally been healed and affected by watching Todd Bentley on television. I went away and prayed earnestly about this and asked the Lord to give me some answers. I believe, in faith, that He told me anyone who came seeking Him at the meetings would find Him. There is a lack of fire in the Body of Christ today, even amongst the Pentecostal churches, and without fire there cannot be effective reproduction (ie. witnessing and leading others to Christ). God is longing for us to be on fire for Him and people find this ‘fire’ at these meetings. Regarding the bizarre manifestations that concerned me, I believe the Lord said these are merely acts of the flesh, but that true revival is and will take place in the Spirit because of those who earnestly seek Him.
We have also introduced an events page called What’s Up? which we feel will be very helpful to you, our readers. If your church or organisation is holding an event, please let us know in good time.Remember we prepare the magazine at least a month before it goes on sale.
