Then he said to them, "Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."

Question:

What’s wrong with gambling for fun?

Answer:

The Scriptures command us to avoid even the “appearance of evil”. We are to “abstain from every form of evil” 1 Thess 5:22 – “shrink from it and keep aloof from it, in whatever form or whatever kind it may be.” (Amplified Bible).

1 Cor 15:33 warns us: “Do not be deceived: evil company corrupts good habits.” Everything we have and own really belongs to God - we are only stewards. Even what we do for ‘fun’ must be subject to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Places like this encourage and influence people to ‘donate’ money for the corruption of people for whom Jesus died - replacing faith in God with the concept of ‘luck’.

We are engaged in Spiritual warfare and our task is to tear down the strongholds of the enemy – never to participate in and compromise our testimony before God.  Rather “therefore, whether you eat or drink, OR WHATEVER YOU DO, do all to the GLORY OF GOD.” 1 Cor 10:31
