EVANGELISM IN HIS NAME

Dear Friend,

The Apostle Peter, struggled with fear.  We know how he denied even knowing the Lord not once, not twice, but three times, when asked by a simple servant girl if he knew Jesus.  One wonders what would have happened should Peter have testified to Jesus being the Son of God, the Saviour of this world.  What if he had said, “Yes, I know that man.  I watched as he opened the eyes of the blind and made the cripples walk.  I watched Him raise the dead to life and forgive the sins of prostitutes and tax collectors.”  Perhaps a Gospel Crusade would have broken out then and there, with many getting saved!   Unfortunately, fear defeated that big fisherman, again and again and again.  However, we see a very different Peter on the day of Pentecost.  We see a man who preached a red hot salvation message to thousands of people in the very city where Jesus had been put to death.  What happened to Peter to bring about such a dramatic change?  What happened to transform him from a creeping mouse into a roaring lion?  Quite simply, he had been filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit!  If fear is holding you back from witnessing, I would say to you today, “Get the fire of God within you!”  That divine inferno will drive out any filthy spirit of fear that is holding you under its thumb.

Yours in Him,

Tamryn Klintworth

FREE FROM FEAR

Imagine having a deep desire to live for Jesus and serve Him wholeheartedly, but not being able to because you lack the courage. Indeed, fear is a force the enemy uses to paralyse many a Christian. Nonele Mvandaba (27) from Mthatha, wanted nothing more than to be a bold and fearless witness, proclaiming the name of Jesus without compromise. However, fear always held her back. When she heard about the upcoming In His Name Crusade in her hometown, she was determined to attend. A strong believer since 2009, Nonele travelled to town by taxi, then walked the extensive distance from town to the crusade venue.  She had one goal in mind, to have a life-changing encounter with her Saviour. “I have never suffered from illnesses, but have always been very fearful,” Nonele explained when giving her testimony.  She describes her experience during prayer for the baptism of the Holy Spirit as “freeing”.  “I was shocked at how free and fearless I felt after the evangelist prayed for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I felt this warm touch that I have never, ever felt before!” With gratitude in her voice, she expressed how happy she was to be free from the chains that bound her. “I felt like I was living a limited life in Jesus, but did not know how to let go of that fear that kept me from truly serving Him. Now, I believe that I can serve Him without fear, and that God will carry me in everything that I have to do for Him.” Nonele is eager to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth.  Her desire is to “work for Jesus” and tell people about the Word of God.  “I am so thankful for this crusade and I am thankful for what God has done in me.  I am so happy!”
