Then he said to them, "Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."

Dear friend,

When John the Baptist, baptised Jesus in the river Jordan, God the Father was not going to be left out.  He was eager to baptise Jesus as well.  But, not with water.  Rather, with the Holy Spirit!  The Bible explains how the Spirit of God descended and remained upon Jesus, a dove being used to picture Him.  Now, a dove is commonly known to symbolise peace.  Appropriately, the Holy Spirit is the One who floods our hearts with the peace of God, comforting, loving and teaching us.  However, on the day of Pentecost, when that same Holy Spirit filled the disciples, God used a different picture – the picture of fire!

Fire, is dangerous.  Fire, burns until all fuel within its reach is entirely consumed.  So it is with the Holy Spirit.  If we allow Him to flow through us, He will consume sin, sickness and any oppression that holds people in bondage.  He shall set the captives free, left, right and centre!  As a fire would be relentless in its task of consuming, so we must be relentless in being the hands and feet of Jesus in a dying world.  The Holy Spirit Himself will drive us onwards.  He supplies the zeal and the power.  We only need to cooperate with Him!  This, is a simple truth that Thembisile from MDANTSANE, Eastern Cape can testify to.  Do read his thrilling testimony below.

Yours in His service,

BAPTISED BY FIRE

Attracted by posters advertising our MDANTSANE Gospel Crusade, 31-year-old Thembisile Mzonke was curious to hear what the “lady on the poster” had to say.  “When I saw the poster, I knew that this crusade was going to bring something new, something special into my life,” he explained.  Although already born-again, Thembisile felt compelled to attend.  At the Saturday evening service, he received what he had come for.  After Ev. Samuel Murrombe, the IHN Crusade Director, preached the Gospel, Ev. Tamryn ministered on the baptism of the Holy Spirit, praying thereafter for the fire to fall.

“When the evangelist was praying for us, I felt the strong presence of the Holy Spirit. I remember thinking that I am getting exactly what I expected when I first saw that poster.  I definitely do not regret coming here.  Now I know that the devil is afraid of me and that I am victorious in Christ.  I am going to do the will of God.”  Red hot and fired-up for Jesus, Thembisile is zealous to plunder hell and populate heaven, for Calvary’s sake!
