Dear Friend,

“For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did...” – Romans 8 v 3

Paul speaks herein concerning the inability of the law to bring righteousness.  Seeing the inability of man to adhere perfectly to His commandments, God brought righteousness to man in the form of a free gift, made possible through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.  In summary, what the flesh could not do, God did.  Such is a pattern for our Christian walk.  Whatever you are not, God will be.  Whatever you lack, God will provide.  When you are weak, God will supply strength.  When you are afraid, God will comfort and protect.  When you lack wisdom, God will bring direction.  He will step in and fill the void of your inability.  Trust in your Lord, with Him, even a broken spirit becomes a world-changing hero.

The story below is of a young woman whose emotions ebbed between depression and despair following her recent divorce.  She felt as if the pain would never dissipate, that hope would never return.  God, however, had other plans.  In her weakness, He became her strength.  In her despair, He became her joy.

Do enjoy the read,

THE POWER OF PRAYER

With tears staining her cheeks and her slender frame shaking with emotion, Lindiwe Mashia could not stop proclaiming how Jesus had touched her life.  “I feel free,” she exclaimed, “ I feel like I want to shout, ‘Jesus!’”

The slim, pretty mother of two, found her life in turmoil after a nasty divorce.  The burden of coping as a single mother weighed heavily upon her.  A thick cloud of depression shadowed her every step.  Her misery was at times so great that she even lost the courage to pray. “I had sleepless nights, I was sick for three weeks,” said Lindiwe.  “My mom was taking care of me at home, I simply couldn’t move on.”  It was her aunt who encouraged her to attend the In His Name crusade.  “You need prayer,” she told her niece, “We need to break this thing.”  Lindiwe relented.  She was desperate for a touch from God.

“When the evangelist was praying for me, I felt a heavy cloud over me, as if she was pressing something inside of me,” Lindiwe explained, “But then, that thing disappeared!”  Lindiwe was ecstatic.  “The Lord has healed my heart.  I feel free and I am so happy.  I have never been this happy in my life!”  Being one of only a few believers in her family, Lindiwe vowed to continue serving the Lord.  “I now know how much Jesus loves me,” she said.  “With Him in my life, I will make it.  No more turning back!"

Lindiwe's testimony is a true indication that with God, all things are possible.  Whether a physical healing or a miracle of the heart, our Jesus is always eager to set the captives free.
